Imagine RIT is an annual festival held during spring at the Rochester Institute of Technology, celebrating technological advancements by demonstrating cool gadgets and gizmos. It typically caters to the local Rochester crowd—students, families, children—as well as to potential incoming students.
Every year, the university opens a poster competition to students to advertise the event. And every year, I've created a poster.
My freshman year at RIT, I entered independently. I went through several layouts and eventually came up with a striking visual of a tiger's eye, reflective of the iconic RIT tiger mascot. The dramatic colors and composition make for an overall captivating poster.
While I had planned to independently enter the annual poster design competition again, my 3D class made it mandatory. I took inspiration from holograms and augmented-reality animations in movies, utilizing Cinema 4D's physical renderer in combination with luminated materials to create realisitic, glowing stills and a short animated movie.
